Extracts from the book:
Wake Up
Wake up to the sunshine
signaling the dawn of a new day
Wake up to the gentle breeze blowing
orchestrating the leaves rhythmic dance
Wake up to billowy white clouds
moving in formation across a blue sky
Wake up to our fine feathered friends
chirping in unison, belting out a tune
to wish you a melodic morning
Wake up to the aroma of lilac blooms
permeating the air
Wake up
Enjoy the beauty of nature
Fresh Fallen Snow
Pure white fluffs
falling like sparkling crystals
from the sky
descending from the heavens
swirling in the wind
as though angels were blowing them
down to our earthly ground
A mesmerizing landscape
a white pristine blanket
glistening in the sunlight
A waking beauty
on a cold winter day.
Heat Wave
Sun blazing in a cloudless sky
No breeze to be felt
Air full of steam
Like walking into a sauna
The lush green grass
Now parched, brown and brittle
The brook no longer babbles
The dog days of summer
The earth in need of alleviation
Screaming for a reprieve
Cycle of life
Colorful coats
Tossed carelessly to the ground
By naked trees.
Gusty winds pick them up
Transporting them to new locations
Swirling and forming
Piles of brilliant color
An array of burnt orange, rustic red
Earthy brown and golden yellow.
The wind steps in again
Foraging the leaves
Moving them to sacred ground
Where they will wither and die
And provide nutrients
Back to the earth.
